About Roberta Williams

Roberta Williams is an award winning, multi-faceted artist, teacher, and journalist. She was born in Washington, D.C. and grew up in the suburbs of Maryland. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Maryland, College Park. For many years Roberta traveled the world with her military husband and their children. She now spends most of her time surrounded by the colors of Texas and New Mexico. 

 

Roberta was one of the founders and an original owner of the Artists’ Colony of Sumter, SC, which was featured in Southern Living Magazine. 

Her work has been in numerous exhibits and hangs in many private collections, including The Pentagon and the international Fortune 500 Company Smithfield Foods, Incorporated. Over the years she has been featured in various local, state and national publications such as the Virginia Daily Press and Southwest Art Magazine. Roberta is currently pursuing a master's degree in art therapy.

 

She believes the beauty of art can touch people in positive ways. Roberta is a Christian and says her greatest inspiration comes from her faith, as she often asks God, “Please, teach me how to paint.”
